Welcome to Week Three of Coming Back to Myself. 💛

I feel like I can finally say this without jinxing it… the move is pretty much done.

There are still a few boxes here and there, a couple of things that need to find a permanent home, but the chaos part of it? That’s mostly behind us now. And I didn’t realize just how much that was weighing on me until it wasn’t anymore.

With things settling down, I’ve been able to rest a little more. Not perfectly, not consistently every single day, but more than I was before. And it’s made a difference.

I have a little more energy.
A little more patience.
A little more room to breathe.

And maybe the part I didn’t expect…
a little more confidence.

Nothing huge. Nothing loud. Just that quiet kind of confidence that shows up when you start feeling like yourself again. When things don’t feel quite so heavy all the time.

I think some of that is just the natural result of things calming down, but I also think it’s because I’ve been intentional about adding in a few small things that are actually helping.

Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming.

Just small shifts that are starting to add up in a way I can finally feel.

The first thing I added this week is a new shampoo and conditioner—and honestly, this one surprised me a little.

Because it’s drugstore.

And listen. I love a good high-end moment as much as the next person, but right now? I needed something that worked without making me feel like I needed to take out a second mortgage just to wash my hair.

My hair has been doing the absolute most lately.
Oily at the scalp, dry at the ends, and thinning thanks to lupus…because apparently we can’t just pick one issue and call it a day. The fun never ends over here. 🙄

So I went looking for something that focused on repair, not just surface-level “shine” that disappears the second you rinse it out.

This is the one I landed on, and I’ll say it straight: I really like it.

It’s designed to strengthen and repair damage with protein-based ingredients, which is exactly what my hair needs right now. And after using it for a bit, I can actually tell a difference.

My hair feels softer, but not weighed down.
It looks shinier, but not greasy.
And the biggest one for me: it has more volume, which I was not expecting but will absolutely take.

It’s not a miracle fix (because let’s be real, nothing is), but it’s one of those things where you wash your hair and go, “okay… this is better.”

And right now, better is exactly what I’m aiming for.

The other thing I added—and I’ve actually been using this for about two weeks now—is a glossing treatment.

And before I say anything else, full transparency… I do get a Brazilian blowout about every 12 weeks, and I keep my hair a dark brown (very close to my natural color, I swear 😂). So this isn’t the only thing doing the work.

But this?
This is helping.

I’ve been using it once a week for the past couple of weeks, and I can tell a difference. I’ll put it on, rinse it out, and then just let my hair air dry, and it consistently comes out smoother, shinier, and overall just healthier-looking.

Not in a heavy, coated way either. My hair still feels light, which is important because anything too rich will weigh it down fast.

It’s made for dry, dull, or color-treated hair, and it has glycolic acid in it to help smooth and seal everything in. And whatever it’s doing, it’s working. My hair looks less tired, less rough at the ends, and a lot more put together with very little effort on my part.

And right now? That’s exactly the kind of win I’m looking for.

It’s also sulfate-free and gentle on color-treated hair, which matters when you’re trying to maintain color without undoing everything you just paid for.

Again, not a miracle.
But after a couple of weeks of using it, it’s one of those things I’ll keep in the rotation.

So… I guess this week is officially glow-up: hair edition. 😂

Not exactly what I had planned when I started this, but I’m not mad about it…especially when it’s actually helping.

And that’s the thing I keep coming back to. I am feeling better.

I have more energy.
More clarity.
More moments where I feel like the version of me I remember is showing up again.

It’s not one big thing doing it. It’s all of these small things working together quietly, steadily, and building on each other in ways I’m finally starting to notice.

And honestly? It feels a little like a miracle. Not the loud, overnight kind but the kind that happens slowly, in the background, until one day you realize something has shifted.

I’m going to keep going.

And I’ll be back next week with another update so we can see where this leads next.

Until then… take care of yourself in whatever small way you can. 💛
